Whether social, political, environmental, or personal, the navigation required in contemporary life is exhausting. Painting affords Piotrowski the space to process the world and solidify her place within it. Through the manipulation of color, line, and space, Piotrowski creates dynamic compositions that become defiant celebrations. Something beautiful and inexplicable happens by way of abstraction. Perhaps, it is simply the necessary reach for joy in weighted times.
